A special screening of the film "New" was arranged for two judges of the Madras High Court Wednesday.

The petitioner and respondents in a case concerning the film before the court also watched the screening with the judges.

Dravida Kazhagam state secretary for media, A. Arulmozhi, had filed a petition in August, asking for a court directive to the Central Board of Film Certification and the information and broadcasting ministry to cancel the permissions given for public viewing of "New".

The film, given 'A' rating, has been a box-office hit with the youth as a "hot" film.

The petitioner alleges that the film, which shows an eight-year-old getting nocturnally transformed into a 28-year-old, is vulgar and has loaded dialogues.
