‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ has had a lasting impression of Farhan Akhtar on audiences across. So much so, that we see reports stating how Farhan’s next release after ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ has done highest ever business in East Punjab.

Punjab is said to be one of the most difficult territories to appease. We have only seen the Deols working there. Before this, it would just be their films being highly and positively received there.

For the first time, it is a non-Punjabi, Farhan Akhtar’s film to get such a huge reception in Punjab. So, it was not just ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ that did extremely well there, but his ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ is also being immensely appreciated there.

When contacted, Farhan said, "I'm overwhelmed with the kind of response that the film has been getting." Adding more, his spokesperson said, "Farhan is elated that he has been able to break into the Punjab market with aid from his previous role of Milkha Singh. The movie was close to his heart and he’s happy that his current movie, too, is doing very well."
