The world famous Forbes magazine lists 100 top-ranked celebrities, graded on two bases - entertainment-related earnings and fame. In the one year from October 1, 2012 to September 30, 2013, Forbes has made note of stars world over based on the estimates on these two regards, and has now released the famed list. And we in India have a lot to take pride in, especially the Kollywood lot. Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman is ranked 16th in the list and actors Suriya, Kamal Hassan and Vijay took up 33rd, 47th and 49th positions in the list, respectively.

The first place was awarded to Bollywood ka Baadshaah, Shahrukh Khan, while the other four locations in the top five was blocked by cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, actor Salman Khan and master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Superstar Rajinikanth is undoubtedly world famous, but wondering why he is not in the list? This is because Thalaivar did not have any releases in the stipulated time under consideration. Thala, who had a massive opening around Diwali, is also not considered for this year's Forbes, on the same grounds.
