Director Bharathiraja who was recently selected as the president of Directors union unopposed, has now resigned from his post. The directors union had been formed for the welfare of directors in the Tamil film industry, and recently in the general body meeting, Bharathiraja was unanimously selected as the president.

There was no election held and Bharathiraja was selected, and now the director has filed his resignation from the post. In the press release, he has thanked the directors, associate directors and other members of the directors union for selecting him as the leader of the union unanimously.

He has further mentioned that he has understood the difficulties faced when getting selected without an election being held, and hence to enable the selection of the president of directors union in a democratic manner, he is stepping down from the post, and assured continuous support and guidance for the welfare of the union.
