Amid lockdown, the people in some parts of Kolkatta reportedly facing a strange problem. For the past three days, the residents of East Putiary, are receiving black colored dirty water running through the taps of their homes. Reportedly, the municipality's sewage work was going on in the area, as they have been facing a long due drainage issue.

After the lockdown was imposed, the workers returned home stopping the working midway. This undone project is the root cause of the tap water problem, residents say. The locals say that the tap water could not be used for even washing clothes. Due to this, the residents have resort to can water and bottled water for their regular household chores. The councilor of the ward is said to have promised to look into the problem.
