Ilayathalapathy Vijay's grand summer release 'Theri' has emerged as a blockbuster and turning out to be one of the top successful films of his acting career that is nearing a quarter century

In Chennai the film has been doing exceptionally well, right from the start. The first day collections on April 14 crossed the magical one crore mark in Chennai city alone.

Now in its sixth week of release the Atlee directed cop flick is still holding on to eleven theaters and 59 shows across the city despite new releases in each of the following weeks.

In the weekend between May 13-May 15 the film has collected Rs.11,75,160 in Chennai. The film has got 80% occupancy in its fifth weekend which is a remarkable achievement.

The collections made by 'Theri' for the period of one month ) April 14 to May 15) has surpassed 11 crores. The exact number is Rs.11,13,84, 755/-
