Kannada filmdom No.1 star power star Puneeth Rajakumar and highly talented actress Radhika Pandit bagged the best actor and actress awards at the Vivel Udaya Film Awards on Sunday night at Gayathri Vihar in Bengaluru Palace.

Power star Puneeth Rajakumar also received the Youth Icon award on this occasion.

The Vivel Udaya Film Awards deferred on September 10 because of rain was again slightly affected by rain as the drizzle is part of the city life since three days. The awards evening mixed with lovely cultural show was attended by Karnataka Home Minister Ashok, KFCC President KV Chandrasekhar, Dr B Saroja Devi were present at the colorful evening.

Earlier to this award Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana, Dr Srinath received honor of lifetime achievement awards. This time senior actors Shivarajakumar, Jaggesh, Sudharani, Dynamic star Devaraj, Thara and Ramesh Aravind were honored for 25 years of service in the Kannada cinema industry.

Awards for 20 plus categories were given at this evening and it was interspersed with cultural shows. Devaraj for the first time danced, Puneeth Rajakumar performed for his father Dr Rajakumar film song of Operation diamond Rocket’, Tarun, Ragini, Harshika Poonacha and others danced to song numbers in the film.

Actor Jaggesh speaking on this occasion urged the Kannada audience to support Kannada films.
