The makers of the upcoming romantic horror film 'Saansein' have pushed the release date of the film after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrapped Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.
'Saansein' was slated to release on Friday. Its new release date is still not finalised. "After an internal meeting with the team and with respect to Modiji's decision, as an investor, the best was to push the release of the film," Goutam Jain, producer of "Saansein", said in a statement.
Modi announced his demonetisation plans on Tuesday as a move to curb circulation of black money.
According to a source close to the makers of the film, "it would be difficult for people to prioritize a film over the weekend keeping in mind the common man wanting to get used to this change, hence the makers have decided to push the film ahead."
'Saansein' features Rajniesh Duggall, Sonarika Bhadoria, Hiten Tejwani and Neetha Shetty.
