Rajeev Nath's directorial venture 'Rasam' will hit the screens on January 23rd. This food movie has been jointly scripted by Sudeep, Rajeev Nath and Nedumudi Venu. Nedumudi Venu and Indrajith plays the central roles. Mohanlal also appears in the movie. He plays a cameo as himself.

Nedumudi plays a legendary cook named Vasudevan Namboothiripadd. His son Balu, played by Indrajith is but very reluctant about continuing in his father's tradition. When superstar Mohanlal invites Vasudevan to take up the catering for the wedding reception of the star's close friend Shekar Menon's daughter Janaki, Vasudevan, Balu and team fly to Dubai. But circumstances force Balu to take over from his father. This is the movie's premise and has food, flavours, catering, taste, restaurant, serving as the theme.
