The popular director today Pon Kumaran who is in the story writer of latest film of Tamil super star Rajanikanth ‘Linga’ has completed his third film in Kannada – Smt Jayalalitha with story derived from ‘Maaya Mohini’ Malayalam film. To suit the Kannada nativity P Kumaran of Vishnuvardhana and Charulatha has made necessary changes to the remake version. While Vishnuvardhana for him got rich accolade in commercial arena, ‘Charulatha’ got him the critical acclaim for his effort on ‘Siamese twins’.

It was during the Kempe Gowda (Sudeep film remake of Singham) shooting time P Kumar narrated the film of ‘Maaya Mohini’ and it was not an easy nod from Sharan. Sharan comedy hero of Kannada cinema with two super hits to his back ‘Rambo and Victory’ took time to appear in the female get up. Kumaran says it is a comedy film but demanded lot of expenditure. For the original film in this remake we have added songs. There is action and all commercial package. Senior director Nagabharana has also acted in this film with Ravishanker Gowda, Harish Raj, Disha Pandey, Aishwarya Devan and others.

We wanted a good name for the title and chosen ‘Srimathi Jayalalitha’. There is no controversy from this title as the film is quite different. This film is shot in Mysore, Crabby Island in Bangkok and in Bangalore adds Pon Kumaran.
