It has been officially confirmed that Bollywood dream girl Kajol will be acting in 'Velai Illa Pattadhari 2' with Dhanush, Amala Paul. Samuthirakani, Vivekh, Saranya Ponvannan, Hrishikesh and many others.

Kajol has so far acted in only on Tamil and that was the 1997 blockbuster 'Minsara Kanavu' directed by Rajeev Menon. 'VIP 2' will be the second Tamil film in her illustrious career.

'VIP 2' has been launched this morning with a pooja. Superstar Rajinikanth hit the clap board for the first shot featuring Dhanush and formally kick started the film's shooting.

The Superstar's younger daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth will be directing the film and she has also written the screenplay. Dhanush the lead actor has penned the story and dialogues. This will be Soundarya's second directorial venture after 'Kochadaiiyaan' which was the first ever Indian film made using the first Photo Realistic Motion Capture technology.

Sean Roldon will be taking care of musical score for 'VIP 2'. Sameer Thahir will work as the cinematographer. Sathyaraj will handle the Editing. Sathish Kumar will head the Art direction department. Poornima is the Costume designer. Anal Arasu will design the stunt sequences.

'VIP 2' is being produced as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual by V Creations banner of Kalaipuli.S.Thanu in association with Dhanush's Wunderbar Films banner.
