Chinese Superstar and Martial expert Jet Li may be making an entry into Tamil films, playing the lead villain in Superstar Rajinikanth in his upcoming film Kabali` directed by Pa.Ranjith.

According to sources, the writer-director of the film is keen on casting a villain from east part of the world, as most part of this gangster film will be taking place in Malaysia and Bangkok. The team is in talks with five other eastern actors and the list includes, Donnie Yen (IP Man` series), Winston Chao (Zhong Kui: Snow Girl and The Dark Crystal`), Simon Yam (Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life`), Jiang Wen (Gone with the Bullets`) and Chow Yun Fat (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World`s End`). However Jet Li is the top contender and the team is keen on roping him for the role.

Sources also confirm that the actor who would be playing this role will be finalized before the team starts the next schedule of shoot in Malaysia in January 2016.

Kabali` is being produced by Kalaipuli.S.Thanu and has Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte, Dinesh, Kalaiyarasan. Dhansika, John Vijay and many others. Music is being scored by Santosh Narayanan. The film is expected to hit the screens on May 1, 2016.
