A couple of days back we had reported that the 'Thani Oruvan' star Jayam Ravi will be teaming up for the first time with director Vijay after completing 'Marudhan' directed by Shakthi Soundararajan.

Now we bring have more details we collected from reliable sources, about the project that will mark the teaming up of Vijay and Ravi.

Vijay's script titled as 'Kumari Kandam' which has impressed Ravi is a period flick. It is about Lemuria Continent ( a place where the Tamils are believed to have lived in ancient times). The place was completely destroyed due to reasons that are yet to be ascertained by researchers while there a section of researchers deny the argument that such a place ever existed in the history of mankind. The story is about a person who escapes from that place.

Vijay who has already handled a period subject in his super hit film 'Madasarapattinam' has planned this new project on the same lines in terms of grandeur with CG work, spellbinding makeups and getups for characters etc.

Another interesting tidbit is that Jayam Ravi's father Editor Mohan Raja and Vijay;s father Producer A.L.Azhagappan are long time friends and their desire to see their sons teaming up for a film should be credited for the birth of the idea behind this project.

The producer, cast and crew of the film are expected to be finalised soon and we will keep you posted as and when they are revealed.
