Director Vijay is making the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha and today on her birth anniversary it has been revealed that the film is titled 'Thalaivi'.  Vijay has stated "“Who else can befittingly look perfect for the title Thalaivi than her? There’s a famous quote that says – Leaders are not born, they are made" .The project has got the official status as Jayalalitha's nephew Deepak has issued an NOC.

'Thalaivi' has music by G.V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Nirav Shah, lyrics by Madhan Karky and editing by Antony.  Producer Vishnu Induri who is credited with coming up with the story idea for this film is also bankrolling '83 World Cup' and 'NTR' biopic.  Another highlight is the presence of Vijayendra Prasad the writer of 'Baahubali' and one of the highest rated screenwriters in India as a mentor.  The cast and commencement of shooting will be revealed soon.
