After regaining his box office standing with Venkat Prabhu directed comic thriller ‘Biriyani’ that released in December last, young actor Karthi is ready with his next. The film directed by Pa. Ranjith who has delivered a hit with his debut film ‘Attakathi’ has been completed recently.

Breaking the Kollywood marketing norms, the first look poster of the film has been released after the film has been wrapped up. The film has been titled as ‘Madras’ . The film is being produced by K.E.Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green and music has been rendered by Santhosh Narayanan. The film will also mark the kollywood debut of actress Catherine Theresa who plays the lead female role in the film.

Speaking about the film while launching the first look poster, Karthi has said, “Madras is one of my favorite Names. I still tend to use it more than chennai. Now after working on this film even the movie 'madras' has become one of my favorites. Had a whole new experience working with so many talented actors. Shooting in live locations and being part of the local community helped in unlearning a lot of things and learning new aspects of my job.
