It's good news for Vijayakanth fans. 'Engal Aasaan' starring Vijayakanth, Sheryll Brindo and Vikranth will be released this January.

The movie produced by S V Thangaraj and directed by Kalaimani is a mix of action, romance and comedy. The shooting for the movie was wound up recently.

Sources say the movie has emerged as a quality entertainer and would hit the screens on January next year.

Says Kalaimani, 'I thank Vijayakanth sir, who gave his utmost co-operation to me in spite of his busy political schedules. He was very encouraging and helped us complete the movie on time'.

According to Vijayakanth, 'the theme of the movie is very close to my heart. I champion the cause of peasants in the movie. I play a bank manager who educates rural masses'.
