Released on Sept. 23, Dookudu has completed its 100-day mark today in 63 centers across the State. The movie clocked the 50-day mark in a record number of centers. The fete held in Vijayawada in November was a great show that was attended by lakhs of Mahesh fans.

It is well-known that this is the first Telugu film to have crossed the billion mark in collections. (One Billion Rupees, believe it or not). That too in the first 47 days.

Produced by 14 Reels Entertainment, the film drew its strength from Prince's presence, its comedy track, the presence of an ensemble cast (read Prakash Raj, Samantha, Nasser, Brahmanandam, MS Narayana), its action and the sentimentality.

Though some may find that the film could have crossed the century mark in more number of centers had it not been released in a record number of centers, the fact is that the film would not have collected so much in the first week without such a grand theatrical release.
