Earlier this week, Siddharth showed disappointment over the postponement of 'Jigarthanda' release and posted messages stating, the producers haven't discussed with him or with the director, Karthik Subbaraj. Siddharth had no clue whatsoever for the delay, and he's been expecting this movie to give a new lease to his acting career. Upon replying to his outrage, Kathiresan, the producer of 'Jigarthanda' issued a press release.
From my production house (Group Company) I have produced three movies of Dhanush, 'Polladhavan', 'Aadukalam' & 'Naiyaandi'. In the past whenever I decide to release my film, I see there is a clash happening against some other high profile movies. That's the only reason I keep delaying the release of 'Jigarthanda'. As a producer, I know the best to get my movie to cinema halls to earn maximum revenue.
Dhanush's 'VIP' has emerged as a blockbuster and it is running to packed houses. The distributors have suggested release 'Jigarthanda' a week later and I find that suggestion as a very judicious one. I don't understand how, Siddharth did not think the issue on these lines.
Siva, one of the members of Producer council went one step ahead and said, the actors are getting paid for acting and they are not supposed to involve and discuss the release of the movie. Many others including, Dhanu, Jaguar Thangam, S.S. Durairaj, Soundarpandian, and Chitra Lakshmanan also registered their condemn towards Siddharth's outrage.
